UIL solo and ensamble is tomorrow. I am taking the first 2 movements of Vivaldi's 5th Sonata in E minor. I am beginning to have preUIL jitters. The jitters did not kick in untill 6th period today. Usually they kick in about a week before.
The location is Lanier High School, which is just down the street from my house. I play at 9:36 am. I am starting to freak out and go bolistic.
Thankfully, my parents may have lessons and won't be there to make me nervous. These lessons may have just fallen through, however. I hope not. I do not want to be a Chris Simms, who cannot perform to his highest level because he is working hard to please his parents, especially his father, who is a Pro. I'm worried I am getting too concerned about trying to please my parents, thus I cannot perform to my upmost level of playing.

I had my blog reviewed by the weblog review. Hmmm.... Here is what they said of my blog. I was not too surprised, actually. I will admit that I was displeased that I was classified as just another teen, or at least that's the impression I received.

While I wander,
Over yonder,
I stop to ponder
Much of yesterday.

While I walk,
Like a bean stalk,
I stop to talk
The days away.

While I run,
And have little fun,
I stop to shun
The endless years.

While I prance,
With no romance,
I stop to glance
Ages away.

While I grow,
Not a foe,
I hope to sow
Good seeds of hope.

When I am gone,
Be dusk or dawn,
I will be done
Without trace of tears.

Today was a rather different day. I missed 1st and 2nd period for the Fine Arts Showcase for Lamar MS. (Please not first period is orchestra... so I did not miss much). 3rd period I talked politics which was fun. I was actually on the upper end of the conversation. (Conservatives rule!!!) 6th period there was a fire drill, and the rest of the class, the teacher told jokes with really bad punch lines.
5th period was something else, all together. The other day, a student stole something from the teacher. I witnesed it and I felt a sense of "tell or regret", so I waited till after class to tell the teacher. Now that the teacher took action, the student has been in ISS for the past 2 days. The students are starting to point fingers and I'm starting to get alot of suspision. I heard one girl say that the kid in trouble was going to find out who told and the kid's going to get in a fight with that person. My heart jumped down into my belly, and I am sure I went pale. (The kid who got in trouble is an African American basketball player with no lack of mussles.) Please excuse me if I happen to walk to a class with a black eye.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me."
Well, I've never had a broken bone, but memories do last,
And memories that tend to last, have told me of the past.
In the past, words have hurt a hundred thousand more,
A hundred thousand more have hurt, to the bottom of their core.
I will say this with a sigh, that none have hurt this much before.
But the truth of the matter is, those who have hurt, are still, still, sore...

I often see how I have hurt, and fail to look the other way.
What about who caused the pain? Were they hiding what they had to say?
Was their actions more than actions? or did they tell of more?
More pain or sorrow? or despair? I have a feeling they had much more in store.

This poem may not make much sence, but look at it closer and perhaps you will see the light. My focus turns from me to those who I was hurt by. Perhaps I hurt them back. Perhaps there was a deeper cause. Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps. I'm sorry if I hurt anyone, when I was hurt and overcoming...
I guess I still am... so I am sorry if I hurt anyone in the process...

I would like to apologise to everyone for my depressing state as of late. I think coming to McCallum has made me face some memories I had managed to tuck away and begin to kind of heal from. I thought in a way I had forgiven and forgotten. Lately, though, I have found that I did not truely forget, nor did I feel I had justly forgiven. I am just trying to find my little niche, and I am finding I am almost putting myself in the same little niche as I put myself in, in 5th grade.
I would like to meet one person who likes being called names, in both english and spanish. Better than that... I would like to meet someone who doesn't mind being stepped all over... You know the old phrase "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me"? Well, bones heal in time... the scars from those words last a lifetime... They create a wall between that person and the rest of humanity that is hard to tear down...
Memories can never be erased. What is done is done, and now I should move on.
Why am I finding it so hard to do so?
*far off look*
*no one's home look*
*pained eye closing--as if a death of someone near and dear*

The days are passing by.
And, oh, I wonder why,
Why things just can't stay,
And instead, just go and fly.

The days are passing by.
I just want to cry.
I do not like to play,
Yet give a heaving sigh.

The days are passing by.
Passing day and passing nigh.
Over yonder, in that way,
Not even an arrow could just fly.

The days are passing by.
Not one does say good-bye.
That's all I have to say,
Good-bye, Good-bye, Good-bye.

I am considering taking the poems and such I have written as of late and showing them to Mr. Snyder, my english teacher. I am hoping that by taking this action, I may write something rather good in the future that might become a well known piece. The odds are slim but possible. I may be just talking crazy now. I'm still looking to get comments from someone about my writing.

What I think,
I can not write,
For fear of what they'll say.
To make it sink
Into their minds,
Would hardly be fair play.
To hear of what
They'd say of me,
Would hardly be a find.
For I am surely,
Definately, positively,
One of a very different kind.

With tears in mine eyes,
I say goodbye.
With memories past,
I wish they could last.
With every step I take,
I wish it was but fake.
With every hope long gone by,
I take a deep sigh.
With memories gone past,
not one happened to last.
With unleashing my soul,
I do not fix a hole.
With every breath I take,
I pray for goodness sake.
And now with good-bye,
I do not hesitate a sigh.

I've been thinking about my past alot lately... I miss it.
Everyone was so happy and naive.
I remember little Luce, little John Minnich, little Ben Hardee, little Liz Arnold, little Pearl, little John Diaz, John Moralez, Ullisses Moralez, Susana Diaz, little Roel Alvarez, little everyone...
It is driving me crazy... eating me alive inside...

I just want a best friend. If it is one thing that I could have in the entire world, it's a best friend. I feel deserted. My "friends" are people I only talk to at school or online. I don't really seem to have a life. My parents shelter me, and I am being a jerk right now.

I actually went to second service church this morning instead of first...
It was really weird...
I saw a friend there... but it's as if she didn't know me... I felt odd...
I sat on the OTHER side of the sanctuary... Where Michael usually sits...
I didn't feel right being there so late...
I can't say I didn't enjoy myself, though...
It was just really weird...

Yesterday in choir, someone told Mr. Raymond that he was arrogant...
and THANK YOU to that person for saying it!!!
I've been thinking that for a long time... and so have many other people...NOT just at MAC...
I don't care if Mr. Raymond has a thousand degrees and went to the best vocal college in the world... it doesn't make him a good teacher...
There is a difference between bragging about yourself/ what YOU have done, and what your GROUP has done/ is doing... Mr. Raymond only seems concerned with himself and what he has done...
Mr. Raymond is not only teaching us speach level, he is teaching us to be arrogant...
YoYo Ma may be the best cellist in the world, but I don't see him prancing around New York going "I'm the BEST, and no one can argue with that... I've got cause to brag...". I don't know why Mr. Raymond doesn't see that...
Also, he says speach level singing does not put other techniques down, yet Mr. Raymond has put down every Middle School and High School in town. Mr. Raymond also talks about how other techniques put down Speech Level Singing... yet, until I got to MAC, I had never heard of speech level singing... where was is put down? I'm missing something...
The point is... Mr. Raymond needs to get a grip on reality... I'm not saying I have no respect, I do, Speech Level seems to be at least half decent. Mr. Raymond could just be less arrogant.
Also, Speech Level singing does not give singers angelic voices... what's wrong with voices? Mr. Raymond say it's just for children's choirs... this is an insult to all singing up to the mid 1900's!!!

Something I just realized the day before yesterday...
Back in 5th grade, at Brentwood Elementary, I participated in a play called "When Silents Was Golden". The one scene I was in consisted of Sam Bass, Lucinda Holzer, and I. It's just kinda funny that all 3 of us go to MAC, and even funnier, that we are all the same Biology class...
Funny how these things just seem to kind of work out... hmmm... hehe...
Sam is in Choir...
Luci is in Band...
I'm in Orchestra...
we have music covered...
nvm
I wonder how Mrs. Forest is doing anyways??? I managed to find the music from All City Choir in 5th grade last night...
I'm trying to find the script to that play though, which amazes me that I can't seem to figure out where it has gotten to...

Am I the only one who feels this way?
Am I the only one who see these things?
Am I a lonely fish in a big pond?
Am I the odd-ball rainy cloud in the perfectly clear, blue sky?
Am I the only one who sticks up for myself?
Is there ever going to be someone who agrees with me?
Is there ever going to be another person who sees what I see?
Is there ever going to be anyone who shares my veiws, my convictions, my many ideals?
Is there ever going to be?
Or am I the only one?
Am I the single last one?
On the entire face of the planet?
Surely I must be.
Don't argue with me.
Surely I must be...

If it's one thing that I've learned, it's never open your mouth if you think drastically different, for it is the key to being mocked, and made to look foolish. I would like to thank my Biology comerades ...*ahem*... [you know who if you're one]... for making this such an enjoyable experience for me. Of course, I don't want to give out names, because I don't want anyone to PITTY themselves for not BEING there. I just wanted to say THANK You so much. I'll make certain to make that big of a fool of myself, that much of a moron, that much of a show, on Monday.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND WORDS.

(Charlie Brown walks up behind Sally, who is watching TV)
Charlie Brown:School Starts Monday
Sally:Not for me!
Charlie Brown:What do you mean, not for you?
Sally:I went last year!
(Charlie Brown gives one of his GOOD GRIEF looks)

Charlie Brown:So you're not going to school Monday, huh, Sally?
Sally:Oh, yes, I'm going... I changed my mind...
Sally:Mom bought me a new lunch box..
Sally:I figured if Mom went through all the trouble and expence of getting me a new lunch box, I better go to school...
Sally:BUT THAT'S THE ONLY REASON I'M GOING!
(Charlie Brown is rolled back by the yelling... just like when Lucy yells at him...)

(Charlie Brown and Sally are walking home from school)
Sally:I would like to say I enjoyed this first day at school...
Sally:I realize the teachers have put in alot of effort, and a host of administrators have worked hard to develop our current scholastic program..
Sally:the PTA has also done its share as have the school custodians... therefore, I would like very much to say I enjoyed this first day at school
Sally:But I Didn't!
(Charlie Brown stops in his tracks as Sally continues home)

I did everything from organise the UNO deck of cards... to look at old pictures... to read the entire Charlie Brown Comic Book... to playing pyramid on my cell phone. How did I manage to wake up at 10-11am this morning and feel more rested than I have all week?

I AM Charlie Brown. This is my new motto. I was reading a comic book of Snoopy (this really old BOOK), when I realized that Charlie Brown was saying the very same thing I would say... down to the very last word... It was really freaky. The way Charlie Brown got upset, the way he became exasperated, the way he treated his dog, the way he treated his sibbling... It was me. I AM Charlie Brown.
